U.S. Girls is the protean musical enterprise of multi-disciplinary artist, Meg Remy. U.S. Girls’ sixth studio album In A Poem Unlimited is a dizzying buffet of live grooves, the 11 songs of which form a disco Trojan horse for messages of subversion and character studies of women grappling with power.
The New Yorker praised Remy’s “steely intensity” in their profile and Pitchfork said the album is “full of spit and fury, a high-water mark for political pop music” in their Best New Music review, while GQ says it’s “one of the best pop records of 2018 so far." Of the group’s SXSW performances, which they did as an 8-piece, Paste said, “their appearances at this year’s festival ought to be bronzed and held up as a model for all future SXSW performers.
