Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot

This remarkable documentary, recognized by the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI) as one of this year’s National Angels in Adoption, tells the powerful story of a community’s extraordinary commitment to children in need. Admission is free and open to the public.

This special screening will feature special guests First Lady Donna Martin, the heart of the film, who will share her personal experiences and insights, Nika King, the actress who plays First Lady Donna Martin in the film, and Rebekah Weigel, the film’s writer and producer, who will provide context and discuss the film’s impact.

About the Film: “Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot” chronicles the incredible journey of Donna and Reverend Martin, who, against all odds, adopted 77 children from the foster system in their rural East Texas community.
